SECHELT VILLAGE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
October 26, 2005
In the absence of Don Robb the meeting was chaired by Ken Croizier. The AGM was held at the Seaside Pavilion. There were approximately 35 residents in attendance. The call to order was at 7:20 p.m.
In Ken Croizier’s opening remarks he wished to thank the following individuals:
Bill Brown, District of Sechelt for donating the meeting space
Neil Clayton of Clayton’s for the donated cookies and coffee
Bob D’Arcy for establishing a web site for the association
Don Robb and Gordon Bell for revitalizing the organization that had
not been active for some time
Ken also noted that the association had to be large and more proactive to enable it’s members to have any influence on the Sechelt Council. To be a viable association what is needed is paid members, a constitution and an elected board. Ken explained that the constitution and the bylaws being presented were not perfect nor etched in stone but gave the association and it’s members legitimacy when dealing with the Sechelt Council.
MOTION: Gordon Bell/Adrien Tylor That the constitution and the bylaws be accepted. Unanimous
Call For Officers: There were no nominations from the floor.

The A.G.M. meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
Closing Remarks
Phil Green, in coming Vice President, thanked everyone for registering as members. He called upon the new members to be proactive and looked forward to volunteers helping on various issues as they arise.
Joyce Kolibus addressed the assembly and requested that a volunteer come forward to attend council meetings and report back to SVRA. This is a volunteer position that Joyce has been doing and would like someone to take over that position.
Phil responded that the new board will ensure that someone in the newly elected board will attend Sechelt Council meetings.
A question arose about the frequency of general meetings. Phil advised that general meetings for the membership will be held every 1 / 4. Notice will be by phone and email. The cost of postage is prohibitive at this time.
The new board will meet on Saturday, November 5th at 3 p.m. at Gordon Bell’s.
